According to JD Power, the bike is now worth $60,475, in excellent condition. Despite its age, this was a fast bike, with a top speed close to 100mph thanks to its engine, which was 40bhp in high-compression 'EL' form. This Knucklehead was a street bike, and there were only 3,986 Knucklehead models produced by Harley that year (via Classic Driver). This bike was a 1946 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead that the show actually rented to display as one of the Sons of Anarchy bikes. It reminded viewers of the post-World War II era. JT's bike was cool because it was one of two bikes that were classics in the series. Sadly, it was destroyed again when the Clubhouse was bombed. After the accident, the bike was repaired and preserved. Teller's bike, which was preserved at the Clubhouse, is said to have been the one he was riding when he was involved in the accident that killed him. Jax's father and SAMCRO founder John Teller, aka JT, had already died by the time the series started, but his bike was a big part of the show's storyline. With several bike tricks and stunts, and fast-paced driving, the show became not only a beloved plot-driven story but a perfect stop for any motorcycle lover as well. It also helped that many of the show's stars rode motorcycles long before appearing on the show, and their love for bikes shined through the series. It’s got plenty of power across the range with a fuel economy of 43 mpg at a cost just below 20,000 9. In testing, it jumped from 40 to 70 mph in 4 seconds flat. He also starred as SAMCRO's Sergeant-at-Arms Happy Lowman. The bike accelerates from a standstill to 60 mph in 4.73 seconds. The LiveWire’s top speed is 110 mph (177 km/h). The reason everything about the bikes was so cool and spot-on was because David Labrava, a real-life ex-motorcycle club member, served as a technical advisor on the show (via The Blast). The 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) time has also been nailed down to a flat 3.0 seconds, with the next 60-80 mph (97-128 km/h) taking just another 1.9 seconds. From 2008 to 2014, Sons of Anarchy followed SAMCRO, a motorcycle club bonded together by an oath, and through it all their unique, and often tricked-out bikes, took center stage on the show. The characters weren't the only stars of the show, as it was impossible to ignore the SOA motorcycles since SAMCRO was a gang doubling as a motorcycle club. Good for skids, but possibly surprising for the new riders Harley-Davidson is hoping to attract. One of the ingredients that made the FX series Sons Of Anarchy so palatable was the presence of numerous complex and polarizing characters, and all the Sons of Anarchy bikes that they owned. The rear brake is strong as well, but if you’re hard on the front brake then it’s all too easy to lock the rear wheel as there’s a lack of feel at the pedal. The front Brembo caliper grabs the single front disc well and brings the 229kg Street smartly to a stop. The lack of ABS is strange, especially considering all new bikes (over 125cc) will be required by European law to have ABS as standard from 2016. It’s not as bad as an air-cooled bike, but you’ll want to spread your legs out away from the engine after a while. The headlight cowl does little to keep the wind off at higher speeds, and in stop-start town riding the water cooled engine emits quite a bit of heat. It’ll happily sit at 75mph, but push to 80mph and vibes start to creep through the bars. On motorways it begins to feel a little breathless, and sixth gear is more like an overdrive. The engine is incredibly smooth and a joy to blast between traffic lights or corners using the generous spread of power.
